What You'll Need

First and foremost, dress comfortably for movement. While baggy may be comfortable for running errands or lounging around, keep in mind that loose clothes may get in your way when practicing yoga. (That big t-shirt will end up over your head!) Yoga is typically practiced in bare feet to give all those tiny muscles, tendons and bones the exercise they need, but socks are okay, especially for Restorative Yoga.
Yoga doesn't require a lot of equipment, however, props can bring ease to asanas that challenge your range of motion, enhancing your yoga experience. Basic gear includes the following, and I added alternate household items you may use:

-
Yoga mat (alternate: thick-ish blanket)
-
Yoga blocks (alternate: books, cans of food)
-
Sarape (Mexican "shawl") (alternate: lightweight blanket or throw)
-
Strap (alternate: scarf, belt)
-
Bolster (alternate: bed pillow, couch cushion, sofa pillow)

While I'm not intentionally promoting any particular product or purchasing source, here are links to some of the gear I use in classes:

Sarape (blanket) - from Stoke's General Store in Front Royal, VA (they don't always have them in stock)

I understand you may not want to run out and buy ANY gear until you find out if yoga is something you want to pursue, and hauling around cans of vegetables isn't very practical. If you want to borrow equipment, let me know in advance of class, and I'll provide equipment for the first two or three classes.
